Thanks for stopping by to my learning portfolio!
I am a first generation college student. I first envisioned myself attending college after I discovered a passion for working with adults and children with developmental disabilities after volunteering for many summers at a camp in Indiana. I decided to attend Truman State University for my undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders. Go Bulldogs! I quickly got involved in campus organizations and discovered my passion for higher education through my position as a Resident Assistant in Residence Life.
My mentor and supervisor at the time encouraged me to attend a conference for undergraduate students called “Student Affairs 101” at Western Illinois University in order to explore the possibility of continuing my education in Student Affairs. I knew that this was my next step! I graduated with my Masters degree in College Student Personnel at Western Illinois University. Go Leathernecks!
I am a student affairs professional that is passionate about transformational learning, social justice, self-authorship, and ethical action.
I look forward to continuing my development during my next adventure as an Area Director for Earlham College.
